Apps for Speaking Practice with AI - "For Fee" apps & "For Free"

Apps for speaking practice are popping up like bamboo shoots in the spring. We can look forward to the integration of speaking practice in all of our textbook apps sometime soon.
In the meantime, however, there are some "one trick ponies" that are useful, although it means that the students need to make yet another account and remember yet another paasword.
In this brief talk, I will review the currently available apps and what teachers have to say about them. We will also look at some apps that are free yet still allow speaking practice with an AI generated partner.

We will also discuss how you can track the progress of your students who are (or are not) using the apps.

There will be time for the participants to provide their own opinions about the speaking apps that they have used.
